Wilmington Pirate Festival - NEW DATE to be Announced May 15
To be re-scheduled this year. More news on May 15th for our Wilmington Pirate Festival at the Kalmar Nyckel Shipyard with scurvy family fun for all ages. Free admission. Volunteers and sponsors welcome.
Copeland Maritime Center closed for public tours
In light of concerns around COVID-19, we are following the recommendations of our health official and closing until further notice. We look forward to re-opening our maritime center, resuming educational programs, community events and setting sail once more. Please check back, follow us on Facebook/Kalmar Nyckel or call 302.429.7447 for updates. Crew Training students and our volunteers (for ship maintenance, etc.) please check email & Facebook posts from Captain Sharon. Decisions concerning all future operations will be based on the best available guidance from Local, State, and Federal officials.
Kalmar Nyckel Foundation education programming suspended
All KNF education programs in our maritime center and Starting A Colony programs in schools are suspended until further notice. If you would like to book a field trip or in-class education program for this spring or summer, please email Assistant Director of Education, David Livingstone, at David.Livingstone@kalmarnyckel.org. Decisions on future operations will be based on the best available public health guidance.

This event has been CANCELLED due to ongoing caution regarding COVID-19 and the Delaware State of Emergency. Please visit us, Old Swedes Historic Site and Fort Christina Park when we re-open.
